HEY!
My favorite wild place to be is probably the Okanagan (Kelowna). It is such a great view. Everthing there is so nice; the lake, the forsets, the beaches, and more. I love the Okanagan! It's such a relaxing place to be:)

My special place
My special place is located in Victoria, B.C. It is a small mountain named mount Douglas (mount Doug for short).Every year I spend 1 week at my grandparents' house in oak bay, Victoria. And every year no matter what the weather we climb it. Also we always take a different route up.
(Well you more or less hike up steep paths, then climb). When you are hiking up, the ferns brush your face and arms, you hear nothing but your own conversations and the sound of birds and animals. The smell of trees and plants fill the air. And at the top you get the view of greater Victoria, and the view is breathtaking. Once, at the top, another person showed us a salamander. Sometimes you can locate deer grazing on flat grassy areas. Well this is my special place and I hope it will stay this way

My Special Place
Dear wilded
My special place is Magaret Falls. It does not smell like much.

You can see the water fall and the cave. You can also see a tree that naturally fell over on the path to get there, the scenery on the 10 to 15 minute hike and the hill.

Inside the cave (you can crawl or walk in) all you can hear is the water or if your with someone you can hear there voice same as outside the cave.

When you enter the cave you fell the sting of the cold water on your back, but it is all worth it when you get in.

The water does not taste different from normal water and the air is normal, so there is not much to taste.

So there is my special place.

Dead WildED, my special place is a waterfall called Margaret Falls. It is a waterfall at the end of a path, under the rushing water, there is a small cave that you can crawl into. I did it once, the water froze my back as I went under it. The stream that the water goes down is not moving fast but the water is freezing!!
I think I will tell you about inside the cave. In the cave, it is cold and dark, it is also very moist.
I don't think that I have ever tasted or smelled it so I can't really tell you anything about that part.
To actually get there, you must hike on a path. On the way, you can see a lot of trees that have fallen over.
It's down in a valley so I always want to climb the trees, but you are not allowed to climb them. It always makes me annoyed.
And it is close enough to the beach to walk there!!
And that is my special place.

My special place is in Galiano island B.C. IT is situated in the Gulf islands. It is crisp in the morning with calm musky air. The beach are made of hard-crushed that is hard on your hands but not on your feet. shells and hot hot sun. It is abundant in wild life and full of sraggly trees. There was a lagoon cinnected to the sea where there were condaminioms of crab dens in the baked mud. At night you can take walks down to the beach to watch the sun set against the turquoise sky. You spot bats flying drunkenly and the seals poke there nose out out of the water. Sometimes you can see the midnight wood pecker taping away at a tree. Yes Galiano island is specail to me and if you ever go there to you will find out why.

Dear WildED

My special place is one of the noninhabited islands at Manitoba pioneer camp. sometimes i go to one in a kayak and watch the waves lap against the shore. i really like the crisp smell you get when there. I like the silence. The only sound there is the waves. the grass is really soft. It's like i can taste the air. It's really nice there because it's so quiet and you can think or read without any interuptions.

Hi my names Emma, Im 10 years old and i go to jules quesnel. My wild place is seashellt. I go camping there every summer with my family and a family that used to live across the street from us.

Its special, Theres a huge field right in front of our camp ground and there is a small forest of trees on the side of the field and i climd my first tree there.I climd 13 feet.

If you go down the road theres a beach and a playground. Its so realaxing there, you can smell the trees and the beach.

Every summer it feels so good to go there. The trees look so nice and roasting marchemellows is hevenly and tastes delicious and so do the pancakes in the morning.

Also in the morning you can wake up at 8 o'clock and hear a wonderful song by the birds

Dear WildED.

My special place is in Tsawassen, and it is a little expanse of beach where my grandparents live and that I like to explore. I love to just lie down on the soft sand and look at the sky, and see if I can spot any shapes in the clouds. My little dog Daisy goes around sniffing and chasing birds, but when she gets tired, she comes and lies at my side. It is also a very special place for my dog. It was the first beach she ever went to, and also the beach where she swam for the very first time. I also like to see how far my dog swims out into the sea before coming back to safe land. She usually doesn't go far; she's very people-oriented. Sometimes I take a bit of time to just smell the sea air and think of how lucky I am to have a place that is so special to me. In the summer, the water is warm enough to swim in, and if you go out far enough into the water, you can see a lot of sea life in the slightly murky seawater. I the spring and the fall, there are a whole ton of bald eagles that come to the beach to make their nests. Their beautiful calls I try to imitate are one of the reasons I love that beach so much. I could listen to them for hours on end.

My name is Blair, I am ten years old, and I go to Jules Quesnel School.

My special place is Maui. I go to Hawaii every year and I always like it when we go to Maui. I do allot of hiking there, with my family. Also I like how there’s shaved ice and allot of palm trees. There’s a free movie on the beach every Tuesday. The air smells different. There’s allot of fire jugglers, some of them even skip jump-ropes on fire, balance a burning stick on there nose, and some of them are even brave enough to juggle 5 burning sticks at ones! There’s fireworks very Monday and allot of hula shows. The beaches are great and some waves went up to fifteen feet high! Sometimes when you’re swimming, in some beaches, a see-turtle comes and swims next to you.

HI! My wild place is Galiano island, there's a great veiw, nice beachs and there are tons of fun things to do there.
Where we used to stay there was a badminton net and rackets and the new place we rent has a huge trampoline. Me and my family dare each other to go in the ice cold water and geat them to swim out.
Also at the new place there are big rocks to jump off of in to the water.
The only problem is that the water's really stinky.
There a restaurant there that we go to every time we go to Galiano called the hummingbird pub that has a perret and serves really good chiken strips.
I hiked up mount galiano with my dog but my mom had to go back down half way because my dog couldn't make up the hill.
There isn't alot to hear but there's but there's sure a lot to do! From Ryan, age 10, Ecole Jules Quesnel elemantary school.

There's a place Nanaimo that's covered with trees and is a nice little hike. There's always something fun to do. Whether its hiking or rock climbing its a lot of fun. Its really pretty when you get to the top. It smells of pine and birch, and its so quiet you can hear the animal talk, also its so wet from all the rain but the trees are big and strong.

Hi, my name is Alyssa I am 9 years old. One of my places I like to go is Stanley park there are many trees. The place almost looks like it has no cars (at all!). Even though it not the biggest hiking spot it is very pretty! Another place I like to go to is Squamish it is a nice place to if you want go on a hike, a long walk or to go camping which are some of my favorite activities. I
Like both place very much. What I smell when I go to Squamish I smell fresh air (and sometimes a camp fire.)What i hear when I'm there is lots of birds and wild animals like: a ton of birds, raccoons, and the rattling of animals in the bushes. I can taste the sweetness of the rain before I came here. I can feel the water breeze and the snow (of whistler if in Squamish.) What I can smell when I go to Stanley park is the beautiful plants.

Hi wilded
My special place is...
Gossip it’s really nice there because it is so secret it’s like a private island there is no electronical thing's there.
Gossip is a really special place it is it’s not too big and you can not see through it but it's really nice there because you can see so many deer there and at the rare time you might see one sleeping maybe all of them sleeping! At night there are almost now clouds so you can see all the stars. Or you could go out on the boat and lie on your back it's just beautiful, you can go swimming in the ocean and when the tide goes out there is this big rock and the tide goes out about 1 mile it’s awesome.

I do not remember what park it is in , but my favorite place in the wild, so far, is this pool of calm water with little circles of grass in it and colourful dragonflies. there are a lot of willows around it which are all different sizes and it is really quiet there except for birds singing and the dragonflies buzzing. It reminds me of the place the wolf gods live in my favorite movie.

Our favourite park is Paciific Spirit Park in western Vancouver, because you don't have to go far to get to it and there are still lots of big trees and old logging stumps.
