Nature Inspired Art

Photo by Liron, Talmud Torah School
Nature is often the inspiration for great art: poetry, story-telling, music, photography, painting, drawing, and so much more!

Did your WildED program, or another nature experience, inspire your inner-artist? If so, please tell us about your nature-inspired art, and even better, share your creation here!

Please put your first name (only), grade, and school name on your post. And remember... your post can be seen by anyone who wants to read our blog! : )

A Poem by Jerry, Queen Mary School:

We took a walk through the park,
to see the lustre of the tall trees’ sheen.
To see the motley wood and bark,
and the verdant forest green.

Soft of foot and bereft of sound,
we watch a floating leaf alight the ground,
as we sit, in silence, and feel the breeze,
unmoving, silent, and calm — like the trees.

To reach this spot, we waded through
spiked branches, grasses; driving moss askew.
Our restful half-slumber only dared to be interrupted by
a careless neighbour’s pressure applied to a flimsy twig dry.

To reach this haven our journey was slow,
stopping to watch the plants grow.
To which our wonder was sated there:
our ponderings of “what’s that” and “over there?”

The cause of why our journey was slowed,
was when we made a sun compass by the side of the road.
And then our hike commenced again,
where did our time go, back then?
