On November 9th, 2010, my class went on a hike by the Capilano River. When we got there, we played a game called Eagle's Eye, a different kind of hide and seek game. I think our leader Jay was the best leader that we could have!He was funny, described everything we saw really well and let us taste some roots. To make the world more envriromentally friendly I'm going to compost, recycle and reuse more stuff. Lastly I am going to get other people to be eco-friendly.

Wild Ed was a very nice nature walk. The stairs up were tedious, however, the salmon were very beautiful. I have learned a lot from this, but the most important thing I learned was that nature is beautiful and we need to take care of it. When you go on a hike, you need to take only pictures or videos and leave only footprints. You can pick up other people's litter too if you see any when you are walking through. I will also try to use less paper, to save the beautiful trees.

Hi! My name is Stacey. I had an awesome time at the WildED hike with our guide Jay. Jay told us tons of facts about the forest and we also tasted some plants and roots. He cut off a little piece of the licorice fern's root. Although it was named the licorice fern, it tasted more like peas to me. We also got a chance to taste the Douglas Fir Tree. Jay told us to eat it the animal way. The animal way was just using your mouth to take the leaves from the tree instead of using your hands. There was so much more fun things we did but I can't write that much. I am going to be more eco-friendly by recycling, composting and turning off all the lights when I leave the house. I will also try to pick up any litter I see at school.

The fieldtrip was very fun, especailly the hiding game with Jay. Tasting new trees and plants was cool too. After I saw the cool salmon, I made a decision to never litter in the river or the lake. Instead, I would want to figure out new ways to help our planet. I would of coarse recycle and respect our surroundings. Exploring the woods was fun and whenever I go hiking in the woods again, I am going to remember to take all of my litter back home with me.

Our WildED fieldrip was really fun. Our class went hiking and we tasted plants. The fish we saw were called Salmon. Jay took us to an aquarium where we say the salmon jump up the fish ladder. The fish ladder helps the salmon get past the dam. Jay was our guide. He was the one who showed us around. I will help the environment by not throwing garbage on the ground. I will also try to ride my bike or walk to places instead of getting a ride in the car. When I see a piece of garbage on the ground I will pick it up. If I see someone at school drop a piece of garbage, I will tell them to pick it up. At home I recycle bottles and cans. I put them in a huge bag. I collect the bottles and cans from my family members. I also ask people at my mommy's work to collect bottles for us.

Hi my name is Ryan and I really enjoyed the WildED hike. Our gyuide Jay, was really fun and out going. This included climbing in an uprooted tree, trying a root, gnawing on a Douglas Fir and putting some natural paint from a tree on our faces. Jay also showed us teh fish hatchery, where we saw a fish ladder. After this hike I know see nature in a whole new perspective. By showing me conserving energy, recycling, reusing resources and reducing the use of resources is priceless. Overall thuis hiking experience was awesome. Thank you WildED!

Our WildED hike was fun especially with friends and classmates. It was really interesting as we learned lots of things while walking. We also tasted some plants. We played Palm Tag and Eagle Eye. It was fun playing with our leader, Jay. Then we saw salmon going up the fish ladder and baby salmon in the hatchery.I am going to recycle and reuse things to help save the environment. I would like to go hiking with WildED again!
